Brian Bowles to return to action against Damacio Page

| December 20, 2010 | 1 Reply

After nearly nine month out of action due to injuries, former WEC bantamweight champion Brian Bowles (8-1) will look to step back into the cage at the UFC on Versus card scheduled for March 3, 2011. Bowles will be facing a familiar opponent in Damacio Page (15-5), whom he defeated by Guillotine choke back in 2008 at WEC 35.

The bout was originally reported by MMAJunkie.com and later confirmed by MMAWeekly.

Bowles last fought at WEC 47 where he lost his bantamweight title to Dominick Cruz by Doctor stoppage (broken hand) following the second round. He was then scheduled to face Wagnney Fabiano at WEC 52 but suffered a broken foot in training that forced him to withdraw. He’ll need to shake off that year of ring rust because Page will be looking for revenge.

Page is also coming off a lost and will look to bounce back after being submitted by Demetrious Johnson at WEC 52 back in November.

UFC on Versus 3 has not been officially announced by the UFC but it’s rumored to take place in Louisville, KY.
