David Loiseau Takes Home Tachi Palace Gold

For a man who was unable to win a championship in the UFC, winning won outside is the next best thing. Former UFC middleweight contender David “The Crow” Loiseau defeated Leopoldo Serao to become the Tachi Palace Middleweight Champion.

In a fight that turned out to be less exciting than expected, Loiseau was hesitant to engage on the feet and Serao did little on the ground. The first three rounds of the fight left fans unsatisfied and frankly uninterested in who would come out the winner. Going into the championship rounds, Loiseau began to pick up the pace, landing strikes from Serao’s guard and opening cuts on his face. By the fifth round, the Canadian smelled blood in the water and attacked Serao with vicious elbow attacks from the top. The ringside doctor stepped in to examine Serao’s face and ultimately called the bout to a halt, crowning Loiseau the champion.

Earning his first title belt gives Loiseau hope of continuing his career outside of the UFC. After being cut for the fourth time, many wondered where he would take his career next. The UFC had been Loiseau’s dream home for MMA although he was unable to keep up with the upper echelon of fighters. A Tachi Palace Championship is the start of some thing new for him and will keep his career moving forward.
