“Mayhem” Headed For UFC

Jason “Mayhem” Miller has inked a multi-fight deal with the UFC.  The news was broken by Ariel Helwani at www.mmafighting.com but Mayhem has since verified the news via his twitter.  It’s going to be very interesting to see who Miller faces first inside the UFC.

Jason Miller is a very well-known fighter.  Some people know him for his antics outside the cage, like hosting Bully Beatdown on MTV, or his excellent articles for Fight Magazine, but few rate him as high as he should be inside the cage. He’s a very talented fighter and is well rounded and has the skills to take anyone to task at 185.  His career in Strikeforce had cooled after a victory on the preliminary card in the now infamous Nashville show.

Since that point, he had feuded with Nick Diaz both inside the cage in a riot, and backstage at events, but apparently that fight could never be put together, and after Mayhem traveled to Japan to dethrone one of his heroes, Kazushi Sakuraba, he was a free agent looking for a fight.

A free agent no longer, he’s part of the biggest MMA Promotion on earth and will be looking to get in line for a shot at Anderson Silva.  He’ll have to win some fights first obviously, but outside of Anderson Silva, (who nobody can beat) it’s fair to say that Miller stands up very well against the UFC competition.

One thing is for certain, the UFC Middleweight division just got deeper, and a whole lot more exciting.
