Jason Miller Draws Aaron Simpson at UFC 132
News broke Friday that Jason “Mayhem” Miller had signed a multi-fight contract with the UFC and now, just 24 hours later, he has an opponent. Miller will face Aaron Simpson at UFC 132 scheduled to take place in Las Vegas on July 2nd.
Miller (24-7) has been out of action since defeating Kazushi Sakuraba in September. Since then, Miller has been thought to face both Nick Diaz and Tim Kennedy, but for reasons unknown both bouts never happened. “Mayhem” will now look to make a stronger first impression inside the Octagon than he did six years ago.
Simpson (8-2), a standout collegiate wrestler, makes for an interesting bout with Miller. Most recently, he ended a two-fight losing streak with a unanimous decision win over Mario Miranda. Simpson will likely not be the favorite coming into the fight, however he does have the skill to win.
It is still unknown whether the bout will be aired on the pay-per-view or on Spike, though it is likely that Miller’s colorful personality will be used to bring in a strong viewership either way.
