UFC 136 Gets Three New Fights, Including Second Title Fight

UFC 136 in Houston is shaping up to be one of the biggest and best cards in recent memory. Three new fights were recently announced for the card and they should all be very exiting fights.

Dave Herman will be making his second appearance in the UFC when he takes on Mike Russow on October 8th, in Houston, Texas at the Toyota Center. That was just one of three announced fights that should make UFC 136 a very interesting event. Dave Herman had a successful debut against John Olav Einemo and brings a very solid 21-2 record into the fight with Russow. Mike Russow is 14-1 and 3-0 inside the UFC but has gone mostly under the radar since his stunning late and come from behind KO victory over Todd Duffee at UFC 114.

Also announced is a very intriguing match between Melvin Guillard and Joe Lauzon, two fighters who have been looking solid and at some times brilliant. Guillard remains a lightning quick striker with power to end the fight with one shot while Lauzon is a super grappler and has been tossing fighters around and submitting them. Guillard rides a five fight win streak into the fight while Lauzon is 3-2 in his last five.

Also being announced is a second title fight for the card as Jose Aldo will meet Kenny Florian to determine who will rule the Featherweight Division for the foreseeable future. It’s a tremendously exciting fight and with Gray Maynard/Frankie Edgar headlining the event, it’s starting to look like the top show of the year. Here’s the current lineup for the event.
