UFC Fight Night 25: Battle on the Bayou Predictions

Battle of the Bayou sounds more like something out of the civil war history book then a UFC event but nevertheless, tomorrows UFC Fight Night 25 dawns the name. The UFC returns to the big easy and the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana for the first time in over nine years. The free card will air live on Spike TV, with the undercard streaming on Facebook.

The main event is a battle of Jake’s as welterweights Jake Shields and Jake Ellenberger “battle” to more up the division currently own by Georges St. Pierre.

Shields (26-5-1) lost his 15 fight win streak in his last bout when he lost his title fight against St. Pierre at UFC 129. The former EliteXC and Strikeforce champion went the distance against the champ but hasn’t looked impressive since joining the UFC.

Ellenberger (24-5) is looking to make a big splash in the division with a win over Shields. After losing his UFC debut, the Juggernaut has won four fights in a row, including a KO of Sean Pierson his last time out at UFC 129.

Also on the main card are two former Ultimate Fighter winners, Court McGee and Jonathan Brookings. The season 11 winner, McGee (13-1) returns to action after nearly 11 months off due to injury to face Dongi Yang (10-1). Brookins (12-3) won Season 12 and will be dropping back down to featherweight to face the very tough Erick Kock (12-1).

The fourth and final bout on the main card has Alan Belcher (16-6) returning to the Octagon for the first time in 16 months, following emergent eye surgery. His opponent will be Jason McDonald (25-14) recently came back from a long layoff himself to defeat Ryan Jensen at UFC 129.

The eight bout preliminary card will stream on UFC fan page on Facebook and includes notables Cody McKenzie, Evan Dunham and Matt Riddle.

155 lbs.: Evan Dunham vs. Shamar Bailey – Evan Dunham

170 lbs.: Matt Riddle vs. Lance Benoist – Matt Riddle

135 lbs.: Ken Stone vs. Donny Walker – Ken Stone

170 lbs.: Clay Harvison vs. Seth Baczynski – Clay Harvison

170 lbs.: Mike Stumpf vs. TJ Waldburger – TJ Waldburger

145 lbs.: Mike Lullo vs. Robert Peralta – Mike Lullo
