TUF Live: The Semifinals are in the books

Last night was the last episode of TUF Live before the finale that will crown another Ultimate Fighter winner on June 1st, from the Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada. The final four fighters faced off tonight in the semifinals with two of them moving one step closer to the six figure UFC contract.

As in the contract wasn’t enough though the winner will also get a sponsorship deal with Tapout and a Harley Davidson motorcycle. The four fighters along with the two coaches were taken to the Harley store to get the Harley experience and show them what they’d get if they win. They got to set on the bikes, interchange parts, do a simulated test ride and try on the gear.

Avoiding talking about the pranks, we move to Dana White calling all the fighters into the training center. He explains to them all that they have accomplished something no other season of The Ultimate Fighter has and they have handled themselves great. He them informs them all that they will be fighting on the TUF Live finale, well all of them but two. Mike Rio and Andy Ogle cannot fight on the card due to medical reasons. Ogle takes the bull by the horns and catches White on the way out and says “the UFC is going to Nottingham” and White say he’ll make it happen.

Team Cruz is super worried about James Vick should the fight go to the ground and his opponent (Mike Chiesa) is a wrestler. Things aren’t any better at the Team Faber practice when Chiesa just has a horrible day of sparing and breaks down.

Fight #1 - James Vick (Team Cruz) vs. Mike Chiesa (Team Faber)

Round one was controlled by Vick as the fight was contested primarily on their feet. Vick stunned Chiesa late in the round, allowing him to get top position for the remainder of the round. In the second round, Chiesa gets a takedown and easily moves to full mount. From that point he just reigned down shots ad Vick curled up until the referee stops the fight.

Mike Chiesa defeats James Vick by 2nd rd KO (1:55)

Iaquinta vs Pichel 292x200 TUF Live: The Semifinals are in the books

Vinc Pichel vs. Al Iaquinta

Fight #2 – Vinc Pichel (Team Cruz) vs. Al Iaquinta (Team Faber)

Iaquinta gets an early takedown, dragging Pichel down from the back but is unable to sink in the rear naked choke. Pichel gets up and the majority of the rest of the round is spent striking, to which Iaquinta is slightly getting the better of. In round two Iaquinta used the leg kicks to add the exclamation mark in the minds of the judges, while battering and bloodying Pichel with his punches. The fight would go the distance though and in the hands of the judge’s.

Al Iaquinta defeats Vinc Pichel by Unanimous Decision

It will be Team Faber fighters Mike Chiesa vs. Al Iaquinta in the finals and with that Urijah Faber has already won himself a new Harley Davidson. Some bad news though because with James Vick being knocked out he will be unable to fight on the finale, thus Vinc Pichel will also not be on the card. That leaves 12 of the 16 TUF Live contestants left to fight on the TUF Live Finale, which will also include four (*) other bouts.
