UFC 146: Dos Santos vs. Mir Bold Predictions

An all heavyweight main card, now that’s just insane, right? Well contrary to those beliefs, the UFC has put together a main card featuring 10 heavyweights, including a title fight in the main event. The card has seen major changes up and down, including every single main card bout, but through all the changes UFC 146 is still a top-notch card.

After four months of traveling the globe, the UFC heads home for UFC 146 which will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. All 12 bouts will be televised starting with three preliminary bouts streaming on Facebook, then four bouts on FX, before the main card begins at 7pm PT / 10pm ET on pay per view.

The main event was originally schedule to be Junior Dos Santos making his first title defense against Alistair Overeem, but random testing found the former Strikeforce heavyweight champ to have a rather high testosterone ratio. Unable to get a license to fight from the NSAC, Overeem was removed from the bout and Frank Mir was moved from the co-main event into the title fight.

This would cause a ripple effect throughout the main card that got even worse due to injuries to Gabriel Gonzaga and Mark Hunt. The preliminary card wasn’t immune to the changes either as Evan Dunham was replaced by Jamie Varner following an injury and the former WEC champ will now face Edson Barboza.

The UFC on Fuel TV: Korean Zombie vs. Poirier card did the predictions well as we went 9-3 to up the overall record to 71-56 (56%). Anything can happen with the heavyweight bouts on the card but that’s why they are called BOLD predictions.
