XFC 23Xtreme Fighting Championships returns to the AXStv airways tomorrow with XFC 23: Louisville Slugfest from the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville, KY. The fight card might not boost a long list of household names but do not overlook this fight card. Several top local talent fill the night’s undercard, while the main card features a mixture of prospects looking to make their mark and veterans looking to show what they still got left.

The XFC 23 main card will feature six bouts overall and will be headlined by Ultimate Fighter 13 fighter Shamar Bailey against the Brazilian veteran Luis Santos. Bailey had a short run in the UFC after his TUF 13 finale win over Ryan McGillivray but was later released following back to back losses. Since then he’s bounced around until signing with Xtreme Fighting Championships after winning two consecutive fights late last year. Santos is a veteran of 64 professional MMA bouts over 13 years and last fought under the Bellator banner. He hasn’t fought since last May though and is riding a two fight losing streak into his XFC debut. Both have a lot to prove and have been given the headliners spot as the proving ground.

Featherweights Zach Underwood and Deivison Ribeiro will both be making their promotional debuts when they hold down the co-main event spot. Underwood has made single stops at Strikeforce and most recently Bellator, winning both via decision. Ribeiro is coming off a TKO loss to Dakota Cochrane that not only snapped his four fight winning streak but the hype train as well. He’ll be looking to erase that fight from his memory at the expense of his opponent and get that train back on the tracks.

2013 the XFC has been putting several women’s MMA bouts on TV and the featured fight at XFC 23 will be a 115 lbs. women’s fight between Stephanie Eggink and Brianna Van Buren. Eggink will be making her second XFC appearance after defeated Heather Clark via unanimous decision at XFC 21. Van Buren is making her promotional debut in just her second professional bout.

Rounding out the XFC 23 main card will be three fights leading into the above mentioned bouts. Eric Moell and Joey Diehl will face each other in a flyweight bout, John Troyer vs. Julio Gallegos in the middleweight division and Charles Stanford vs. BJ Ferguson at bantamweight.

XFC 23: Louisville Slugfest gets started at 7pm ET and goes live on ASXtv at 9pm ET / 6pm PT. For More information of XFC 23 and Xtreme Fighting Championships visit their website at http://www.officialxfc.com.

My brain child is MMAValor, something I had wanted to do for a long time and finally it’s here. Been an MMA fan since TUF season one (play catch up all the time) and the obsession started to grow like a weed and as the sport grows so does the love for the sport. I’m a jack of all trades, a very organized person that rides an emotional roller coaster daily.
