A fighter claiming he was “ok” or was “not out” is not uncommon in MMA; in fact it happens far too often. It seems to happen at least one time an event and Friday’s TUF Live Finale didn’t deviate from the norm.
During yesterdays TUF Live weigh-ins, UFC President Dana White stuck around after all the fighter made weight to make a special announcement. White starts out by telling a story of a fighter he saw fight in Boston, who he was so impressed with in defeat he offered him a spot on the first season of the Ultimate fighter.
Last night the trilogy between Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez and Josh Thomson came to an end with the champion retaining his belt by the narrowest of margins. Inside the cage directly after the fight, Melendez would say he had a hard time getting motivated for the fight and that he was in a no win situation against the former champion, Thomson.
UFC middleweight Tom Lawlor is a throwback, part entertainer and part warrior, very similar to many of the great Japanese fighters of past and present. Whether it’s an entrance at weigh-ins or for a fight “Filthy” Tom Lawlor goes out of his way to entertain the crowds.
The UFC on Fuel TV 3 weigh-ins took place, today, at the Patriot Center on the campus of George Mason University, in Fairfax, VA. All 24 fighters crossed the famed UFC weigh-in stage and all were able to successfully make-weight. So, all fights are green lighted for tomorrow night on Fuel TV.
The intro for tomorrows UFC on FOX 3 main card will be the standard FOX sports intro, but the UFC put together a pay per view style intro that won’t be airing on FOX. Watch the intro below for all four main card bouts and make you to check out all the UFC on FOX 3 coverage on MMA Valor.
UFC on FOX 3 comes to New Jersey this Saturday and Dana White released his first “Fight Week” video blog tonight. In the latest installment, White gives fans something a little different as he caught TUF Live coach Urijah Faber outside the TUF training center eating a sandwich, while flexing in the reflective glass.
There hasn’t been a video blog from Dana White it what seems like forever, which could only mean either Dana White has been camera-shy or there hasn’t been a UFC Pay Per View in a while……..
