Not having the hunger or desire to fight anymore for a fighter is like a marathon running saying they don’t have the hunger or desire to run, it’s a big deal. That’s the case for the UFC veteran and Ultimate Fighter 3 contestant, Matt “The Hammer” Hamill who announced his retirement from MMA today.
In a fight that actually lived up to the hype, Miguel Torres dropped a close unanimous decision loss to Demetrious Johnson at UFC 130. The fight was rinse and repeat takedowns, sweeps, and sub attempts from beginning to end pushing the great prospect Johnson either on deck or one away from a title fight.
The event is over, the fans have all left the arena and all the fighters are living it up at their after parties. UFC 130: Rampage vs. Hamill might be in the books but the task of sorting out what happened tonight and what’s next has just begun.
