In an exciting season of fights that broke new ground on MTV 2, the tournaments are nearing the finales and fighters are already preparing for their shot at six figure glory. The first light heavyweight tournament has joined Bellator and helped bring new fighters into over 130 thousand homes weekly. Everything from explicit knockouts to inverted triangles has helped with Bellator’s success, and as we are coming to the finale just two exciting light heavyweights are left to meet one taking home the world championship belt and a hefty bonus check.

Richard Hale (17-3 MMA) is coming off a decision win and a brutal inverted triangle that left his opponent sleeping on the mat. Hale trains in Arizona, and wants to continue putting the state on the map while bringing the traditional mix of wrestling and a long and stiff Jab to most of his fights. Hale is a grinder who seems to gain steam as the fight goes on and will be a big (6’4” tall) test for his opponent.

Christian M’Pumbu (17-3 MMA) is another example of a complete mixed martial artist that grinds his opponents down minute by minute till he can break their will and finish the fight. Carpenter was the obvious favorite in his fight with M’Pumbu but his accuracy on a huge uppercut on a stunned Carpenter was the final touch to sending Carpenter to sleep in an instant. Hale will need to keep the heavy hands at bay with his jab and use his Jiu Jitsu and wrestling if he wants to walk away a winner, and M’Pumbu will have to keep the fight standing and break inside with his fast and accurate strikes that can put anyone away.

Overall this will be a great finale fight for Bellator’s new light heavyweight division and a great close to the season. While many factors are left open about Bellator’s light heavyweight tournament and who will win, the fans will get a great fight at Bellator 45. Stay tuned to MTV 2 every Saturday night for free fights and tournament bracket style fighting brought to you solely by Bellator Fighting Championships.
