Tomorrow’s UFC Fight Night 31 marks the return of the UFC Fight for the Troops event. It’s been roughly 22 months since the last Fight for the Troops and let me say that it’s long over due and welcome back.
We’ve got a full week of UFC action ahead of us, and we’re kicking it off with a Wednesday Fight For The Troops UFC Fight Night 31 card. I’ve always liked that the UFC takes a stance for this cause, and the former soldiers fighting here always bring an extra bit of fire to the cage on these nights.
The first UFC title bout in many years to occur on English shores, Renan Barao and Michael McDonald put everything out there for four hard rounds. When the dust settled, it was Barao who has puzzled out his young foe and found a submission towards the end of the fourth round, having defended his interim title and golden ticket to face Dominick Cruz.
Less than a day before the Super Bowl, the UFC put on a featherweight super fight in the UFC 156 main event. Riding a long winning streak, Jose Aldo defended his title against the former lightweight Champion Frankie Edgar in his 145 pound debut. Their fight proved to be as billed but the night was filled with upsets and a “Bigfoot” sized come from behind knockout.
It’s Super Bowl weekend and the UFC has stacked the UFC 156 fight card from top to bottom, including a super fight in the featherweight division. So put down you Super Bowl 47 Odds for just a moment while we predict the 11 bouts scheduled for Saturday’s UFC 156 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
On the heels of all this free UFC action, comes this Saturday’s UFC 156 PPV that is certainly worth the money. Defending featherweight champion Jose Aldo will return to the cage after a lengthy hiatus, taking on former Lightweight kingpin Frankie Edgar in our main event while Alistair Overeem will look to secure a title shot for himself against Bigfoot Silva in the Heavyweight division. Rashad Evans and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira will face off in a tilt at 205 pounds, while Jon Fitch and Demian Maia will clash in a grappler’s delight at Welterweight.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship has finally made it to Calgary with tonight’s UFC 149 in the Saddledome. The card has seen move change than a vending machine but despite all this turmoil the 11 bout fight card that will go down tonight is a true testament to the depth of the UFC roster.
UFC 149 seemed to be such a cursed fight card but that all changed (hopefully) as all 24 fighters easily made weight today in Calgary. The injuries piled up and the changes were a plenty on the UFC 149 fight card, but the fighters that survived to make on the final card appear ready to go.
Bellator 100 Weigh-in Pictures
Last night the fighters for tonight’s Bellator 100 stepped onto the scales with all 24 fighters making weight. The historic 100th event for Bellator takes places tonight from the Grand Canyon University Arena in Phoenix, Arizona and features an all welterweight main card on Spike TV.

Due to a previously scheduled Arena Football game at the HP Pavilion, today’s UFC on FOX 7 weigh-ins were held less than a mile away at the California Theater. The small theater was completely filled with cheering fans and all the fighters they came to see made weight.

Amidst everything else going on, the UFC has themselves a busy day today with the UFC on FX 6 taking place in Australia and The Ultimate Fighter 16 finale weigh-ins. All 24 fighters made weight today for tomorrow’s event that will crown The Ultimate Fighter 16 welterweight winner.
UFC on FUEL TV 4 Weigh-in Results and Photos
SAN JOSE, Cal. – Still recovering from Saturday’s UFC 148, MMAValor.com was inside the HP Pavilion for today’s UFC on FUEL TV 4 weigh-ins. A few of the fighters would need to step onto the scale behind a towel but all 22 fighters on the UFC on FUEL TV 4 fight card made weight.
