New Fighter Rankings are now up

| October 28, 2009 | Reply

The panel got together after UFC 104 and hammered out a new fighter rankings. As always MMA Valor’s rankings are compiled  from a panel of MMA fans/bloggers. Each submits their top 5 at every division and they are combined to the final rankings you see to the left. The beauty of a panel is the diversity of the ranks and how each one thinks differently.

Two new fights moved their way into the top 5 this time around. Chael Sonnen with his win over Yushin Okami moved into fifth in the middleweight division. Grey Maynard benefited by the Joachim Hansen lose at Dream 11 to make it into fifth at Lightweight. Another big move was by Shogun Rua who moved all the way up to second in the Light Heavyweight division with his Controversial lose to Machida at UFC 104.

Three odd things from the rankings that just have to be addressed. Anderson Silva got one first place vote at the light heavyweight division along with a second and a third. Both Fedor and Brock Lesnar Surprisingly weren’t listed in the top five on one ballot each.

Remember that there is no right or wrong in the panels rankings, each panel member can do and rank however they wish too. Panel members are SweetMMAth, The Pain Palace, Colin Timberlake, HellNBackMMA, Dawna Gonzales & MMAValor

My brain child is MMAValor, something I had wanted to do for a long time and finally it’s here. Been an MMA fan since TUF season one (play catch up all the time) and the obsession started to grow like a weed and as the sport grows so does the love for the sport. I’m a jack of all trades, a very organized person that rides an emotional roller coaster daily.
