Additional Fights added to UFC on Versus 5

| May 11, 2011 | Reply

Dan Hardy will meet Chris Lytle in what will likely yield fireworks, and Danny Castillo has also signed on to face Jacob Volkmann.  It looks like another very solid UFC on Versus card.

Dan Hardy needs a win this time out as he faces veteran Chris Lytle at UFC on Versus 5, live from Milwaukee, WI on August 14th.  Dan Hardy has lost three fights in a row, certain death for most UFC fighters, but Dana really loves Hardy, so he’s back again to face off with Lytle.

Chris Lytle is also coming off of a loss, in one of the head scratchers of this relatively new year when Brian Ebersole defeated him at UFC 127.  Lytle didn’t look his best against an unorthodox and awkward opponent and that evening wiped out a tremendous four fight win streak.

Whoever loses this fight could very well be shown the door, which makes it the most important fight in either of their storied careers.  I would say expect explosive stand up and one man to possibly go out of the UFC on his shield.  It’s high drama in Wisconsin to be certain.

Jacob Volkmann finds himself back inside the Octagon for the first time since calling out Barack Obama after his last win over Antonio McKee at UFC 125.  He will meet Danny Castillo, who is fighting under the UFC banner for the second time after defeating Joe Stevenson in his debut for the organization.

The UFC on Versus cards have always delivered and this one should be no different.  Here’s a look at the card as it stands today:

Dan Hardy vs. Chris Lytle

Ben Henderson vs. Jim Miller

Duane Ludwig vs. Amir Sadollah

Cole Miller vs. T.J. O’Brien

Stephan Bonnar vs. Karlos Vemola

Danny Castillo vs. Jacob Volkmann
