Matt Riddle returns to action at UFC Fight Night 25: Battle on the Bayou
Coming off an injury that kept him out of his schedule UFC on versus 4 contest with T.J. Grant, Matt Riddle returns to action this September at UFC Fight Night 25: Battle on the Bayou. His opponent will be UFC newcomer, Lance Benoist who signed a multi-fight deal with the UFC this past month.
The Ultimate Fighter 7 cast member, Matt Riddle (5-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) last stepped into the Octagon at last December’s UFC 124. Riddle lost an action packed, highly entertaining scrap against Sean Pierson that should have won fight of the night honors, but for the one an only time fans voted and awarded the $100,000 award go to headliners Georges St-Pierre and Josh Koscheck.
Lance Benoist (5-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) tried out for the “TUF 13″ this past year but was not selected, but still finds himself in the big show. The newcomer has ended all five of his professional bouts in the first round, including four by way of submission.
UFC Fight Night 25: Battle on the Bayou, takes place Sept. 17 at Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, and its main card airs live on Spike TV. The event will be headlined by top ranked welterweight Jake Shields taking on Jake Ellenberger.
