UFC 144: Edgar vs. Henderson Medical Suspensions
With no athletic commission in Japan the UFC handles the medical suspensions for last weekend’s UFC 144: Edgar vs. Henderson, from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. Today the UFC released its medical suspensions in accordance with the standards set by Nevada Athletic Commission.
The lists are typically shorter when the UFC handles things but with a 25 minutes main event and a hand full of knockouts, the list features nine fighters. Among the nine, three could be facing a six month suspension unless they are cleared by a physician for potential injuries. The three in question are Elji Mitsuoka who knocked out by Takanori Gomi on the night’s undercard, Rampage Jackson who lost a lackluster unanimous decision to Ryan Bader and the newly crowned champion Benson Henderson who defeated Frankie Edgar via unanimous decision.

Benson Henderson: 45 days no contest; 30 days no contact; 180 days or negative x-ray of both hands and left foot for possible fracture
Frankie Edgar: 45 days no contest; 30 days no contact
Quinton Jackson: 45 days no contest; 30 days no contact; 180 days or right knee cleared by orthopedic doctor
Cheick Kongo: 45 days no contest; 30 days no contact
Tim Boetsch: 30 days no contest; 21 days no contact
Yushin Okami: 45 days no contest; 30 days no contact
Joe Lauzon: 45 days no contest; 30 days no contact
Elji Mitsuoka: 45 days no contest; 30 days no contact; 180 days or negative nasal x-ray for possible fracture
Tiequan Zhang: 45 days no contest; 30 days no contact
