Bellator 68 in the books with another interesting night

Quick finishes and split decisions are what the fans in Atlantic City, New Jersey saw at Bellator 68. Not to mention the odd scoring and curious doctor stoppage, before finishing off the night’s action with two season six tournament bouts.

Bellator 68 took place inside the Palladium Ballroom in Caesars Atlantic City and saw featherweight tournament come to an end with a 15 minute entertaining fight between Daniel Straus and Marlon Sandro. With $100,000 on the line and a title shot, Straus implemented his game plan to near perfection against the Brazilian on his way to a unanimous decision victory. Straus dictated the fight and would frustrate Sandro as the fight entered the later rounds. The season six tournament winner now waits from the Bellator featherweight champion Pat Curran and season four tournament winner Patricio Freire square off later this year.

The other tournament bout was in the bantamweight semifinals as Marcos Galvao fought in yet another close tough fight, getting the node by the judges over Travis Marx to advance to the finals. Galvao now awaits the winner of the other semifinal match between Hiroshi Nakamura and Luis Nogueira.

That pretty much concluded the normalcy on the night as the rematch between Marius Zaromskis and Waachiim Spiritwolf ended in yet another unfavorable way as the doctor stopped the fight due to a cut that really didn’t look bad enough to end the fight.

The undercard saw three of the four bouts end in split decision, which would book end a 36 second comeback finish by Aung La Nsang. All in a day’s work for Bellator it seems.

My brain child is MMAValor, something I had wanted to do for a long time and finally it’s here. Been an MMA fan since TUF season one (play catch up all the time) and the obsession started to grow like a weed and as the sport grows so does the love for the sport. I’m a jack of all trades, a very organized person that rides an emotional roller coaster daily.
