UCMMA 28 – Jamaine Facey vs. Jake Bostwick Preview
After looking down the fight card, it’s hard to know where to start with previewing this weekend’s UCMMA 28 event at The Troxy in London with such the quality of the both the main and undercard.
Heading up the bill is a fight that promises everything you could want from a headline fight. Sure, Jamaine Facey and Jake Bostwick may not have the glamour and glitz of a Tom ‘Kong’ Watson or an Alex Reid but, with both fighters earning their shot at this one, their fearsome reputations in the cage make this one worth the ticket money alone. Too close to call, Facey is rarely taken the distance and, with Bostwick competing at 170lbs for the first time in his MMA career, this one promises fireworks and, whereas other fights have failed to live up to the hype, you can be sure that this one won’t be going the distance.
After Corey Tait vacated his belt last year, Ashley Grimshaw enters the cage to try to take his first UCMMA belt. With his original opponent Nathan Beer pulling out at the eleventh hour due to injury, Danny Walsh has stepped up to take on Grimshaw instead. While this late change may force Grimshaw to change his game plan, there are few in the MMA world that sees this one as anything other than a victory for Grimshaw.
Corey Tait himself is looking to regain his bantamweight title this Saturday and, at the same time, put behind him the memory of his 11 second KO at the hands of Spencer Hewitt back in February. Likewise, his opponent, Huseyin Garabet will also want to end the tough time he has experienced in the cage recently entering this fight in the hope of ending a run which has seen him consecutively beaten four times.
Further down the bill, Luke Barnatt looks to add to his impressive 4-0 record as he takes on hard hitter Chris Harman who was last seen trading blows with Mark Potter while the highly rated Wendle Lewis, a fighter tipped by many for a UFC spot, goes toe-to-toe with Galore Bosando.
With the likes of Tony Giles, TV star of ‘Big Fat Gypsy Wedding’ taking on Arunas Slicius adding more quality to the rest of the fight card, UCMMA 28 promises to be another night of big hits and hard slams. You’d be a fool to miss it.
