Today BAMMA announced that middleweights Jack Marshman and Xavier Foupa-pokum would face each other in the BAMMA 11 main event on December 1st. Now with a main event in place, BAMMA 11 currently has 13 fights including a welterweight title fight and Lonsdale British lightweight title bout.
Yesterday from Wembley Arena in London, the British Association of Mixed Martial Arts hosted BAMMA 10 which was headlined by Rob Sinclair defending his World lightweight title against Andre Winner. Sinclair won the title back at BAMMA 2 with a TKO win over Nathan Beer and this was his third title defense. Winner came over from the UFC and had earned this title shot with back to back wins under the BAMMA banner.
With the atmosphere in the NIA was electric as fight fans wait for the main event between Tom ‘Kong’ Watson and Jack Marshman, there is just the small matter of an equally impressive undercard to get through.
BAMMA announced today two more changes to Saturdays BAMMA 9 fight card. Both Fraser Opie and Matt Howard forced to withdraw from their scheduled fights due to injuries sustained during the final days of training. This is on top of the numerous other changes the BAMMA 9 fight card has undertaken since its initial announcement.
With the next event merely a matter of weeks away, organizers have confirmed that BAMMA 9, due to take place at the NIA Arena in Birmingham on March 24th, will see BAMMA-Lonsdale’s British Middleweight Champion, Jack Marshman, challenge Tom ‘Kong’ Watson for the BAMMA World Middleweight belt.
The final fight card of the year for Europe’s leading Mixed Martial Arts promotion, BAMMA, is set for December 10th from the Capital FM Arena in Nottingham, England. The complete 13 bout fight card has been announced and it boasts many of the UK’s top talent (not sign to a ZUFFA contract).
The first event of a jam packed day of MMA is now in the books. The BAMMA 7 Event ended with Team Rough House product “Judo” Jimmy Wallhead notching the biggest win of his career over Frank “Twinkle Toes” Trigg via split decision. Also of note, despite not being able to finish the “face full of concrete” that was Jordan Radev, an overweight Paul “Semtex” Daley still added another man to a very long list of victims.
This Saturday we have Strikeforce’s World Grand Prix Heavyweight Tournament Semi Finals, Bellators Welterweight Quarterfinals and the up and coming British organization BAMMA, with their seventh event, simply called BAMMA 7.
