In the main event of UFC 121 this Saturday, reigning Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar will take on undefeated Mexican superstar Cain Velasquez. Though Lesnar is the slight favorite in the fight, many believe the speed and accuracy of Velasquez will be enough to stop the champ.

Coming from a successful career in the WWE, Lesnar already had many fans supporting him in his transition to mixed martial arts. After each fight, Lesnar gained many more fans, but at the same time he lost several with his WWE attitude that caused fans to dislike him. He took the criticism lightly though and continued acting as if he were still in the professional wrestling business.

It wasn’t until the Minnesota native’s life was on the line that he began to change his ways. A sever case of diverticulitis sidelined Lesnar for over a year and many wondered how he would perform following such a long layoff. Fans were then treated to a new and improved champion following UFC 116, who after defeating Shane Carwin to retain his championship humbly thanked his fans, doctors and family.

Although one fight hasn’t changed too many fans’ point of view on Lesnar, they will still tune in to watch the bout regardless. The avid fans of the champ will be cheering him on all night long, while the ones who do not like him will watch with hope that Velasquez conquers the beast to become the first Mexican heavyweight champion of the UFC.

No matter if you love him or hate him, you have to enjoy the excitement Lesnar brings to the cage every time he fights. His size and power make for an incredible matchup no matter who stands opposite of him. With Velasquez having a significant speed and accuracy advantage with his hands, everyone is anxious to see where Lesnar decides to take this fight and how he handles it.
