UFC 126: Who is on The Hot Seat?

Gabe Ruediger UFC 126: Who is on The Hot Seat?As most of you know this weekend is not only Superbowl weekend, but it’s also UFC 126 with the highly anticipated main event between Anderson “The Spider” Silva defending his middleweight title against Vitor Belfort.  Silva will be making his eighth title defense but has never faced an opponent with the striking skills that Vitor Belfort holds.  The nights Co-main event will feature the return of two UFC stars in Rich Franklin vs. Forrest Griffin

As with every new UFC  event to come along, here is the MMAValor Hot seat for UFC 126

Kenny Robertson (10-0) – Kenny will kick off UFC 126, against Mike Pierce.  Kenny comes into this event making his UFC debut holding an impressive record, with only 1 of those victories going to decision.  The reason we feel this guy is on the hot seat is because of the changes the UFC is going thru, we have seen fighters cut just after 1 loss with the UFC, and people with 3 losses still being employed. As the newcomer, Robertson will need to show something or he’ll be searching for a new employer.

Paul Taylor - Taylor comes into this fight on a two fight losing streak.  His record with the UFC is 3-5, why is he still on the roster you ask? It’s because he brings the action every time he steps into the cage, he has won three fight of the night bonuses.  With all the lightweights the UFC has inquired since their merge with the WEC, they don’t have the need for as many as before. Plus Taylor’s opponent, is a man who has not been very successful in the UFC.  With a loss here, we could see Taylor getting his walking papers

Gabe Ruediger- Gabe was a contestant of TUF season 5, but was dismissed by Dana White due to his cake addiction, and not being able to make-weight.  There was a conflict between Gabe and Joe Lauzon during the season, that both guys didn’t get over, and with Lauzon needing an opponent at UFC 118, Joe Silva called on Ruediger.  Ruediger stepped up and took the fight on short notice.  During the weigh ins, Ruediger brought Lauzon a cake that said ” Sorry for your loss”  Lauzon took offense to that and defeated Ruediger in the first round via submission.  Ruediger has been given another chance by the UFC since he took the fight on short notice but if Gabe doesn’t make-weight or performs in this fight poorly then he will get his walking papers.

My brain child is MMAValor, something I had wanted to do for a long time and finally it’s here. Been an MMA fan since TUF season one (play catch up all the time) and the obsession started to grow like a weed and as the sport grows so does the love for the sport. I’m a jack of all trades, a very organized person that rides an emotional roller coaster daily.
