Rashad Evans replaces Thiago Silva to fight Rampage Jackson at UFC 130
According to sources, Thiago Silva has pulled out of his scheduled fight against Rampage Jackson at UFC 130, and Rashad Evans has come to the rescue and stepped in to replace Silva. Last weekend Evans was forced to pull out of his bout with the light heavyweight champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua due to a knee injury and his teammate Jon “Bones” Jones replaced him.
This will be the second time Evans and Rampage have faced each other, with Evans coming out on top with a unanimous decision over Rampage in their last bout at UFC 114. However, their bad blood was never really mitigated. Recently in an interview with Dave Farra from MMA 30, Evans said that him and Rampage got into it at a club and slapped each other before the bouncers stepped in to break it up.
This match is set to take place in Las Vegas on May 28th, which is headlined by the much-anticipated Frankie Edgar vs. Gray Maynard 3 for the UFC lightweight title.
