Bellator 37 Fight Card and Predictions
Bellator season 4 has started off with some really good fights in both the welterweight and lightweight division. Bellator 37 will feature the start of the featherweight tournament from the Lucky Star Casino in Concho, Oklahoma.
The eight featherweight fighters in the tournament might not be household names, but they are all fighting for the common goal of winner the tournament and getting a shot at the Bellator featherweight champion Joe Warren. Three of the eight fighters in the tournament participated in past seasons featherweight tournaments, with both Georgi Karakhanyan and Patricio Freire losing to Warren on his way to the title.
The combination of Georgi Karakhanyan and Patricio Freire will face each other in the opening round of the tournament, despite their past tournament success. Karakhanyan lost by unanimous decision in the semifinal round of the season two featherweight tournament to the eventual champion Joe Warren. Freire did one better though as he took on Warren in the finals of the tournament, losing a close split decision to the champion.
The undercard or as Bellator likes to call it, the local card is filled with former UFC/WEC fighters Jake Rosholt, Roli Delgado and Jameel Massouh. Rosholt is 1-1 since being released from the UFC and will be taking on John Bryant. After appearing in season eight of the Ultimate Fighter, Delgado went 1-2 in the UFC and was released. He has gone 2-0 since the release from the UFC and will be facing the former WEC fighter Massouh who is riding a three fight win streak, after going 0-3 in the WEC.
The Bellator 37 fight card might not be filled with the names the welterweight and lightweight tournaments do but this fight card should be full of action. Here’s how we see things playing out this Saturday and remember to watch Bellator 37 on MTV2.
