Tito Ortiz to Face Ryan Bader at UFC 132

tito ortiz jumps 300x168 Tito Ortiz to Face Ryan Bader at UFC 132The fight for Tito Ortiz and his UFC career just got tougher! Originally scheduled to face Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC Fight Night 24, Ortiz was forced to withdraw from the fight due to a training injury. Now ready to step back in the Octagon, Ortiz will have a tougher opponent standing across from him when he does.

The former UFC light heavyweight champion, Ortiz (15-8-1) will now face Ryan Bader (12-1) at UFC 132 on July 2nd in Las Vegas.

Prior to withdrawing from his fight with Nogueira, UFC President Dana had made it clear that Ortiz was on his last chance to prove that he can still hang with the ever evolving UFC roster. Ortiz is on a three fight loser streak and is 0-4-1 in his last five fights dating back to 2006. Needless to say, Ortiz is in need a win in the worst possible way.

Bader is coming back from his first career defeat at UFC 126 by the now current light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones. Prior to that loss, Bader had won five fights in a row in the UFC, including a unanimous decision win victory over Nogueira.

UFC 132 will be headlined by welterweights B.J. Penn and Jon Fitch in a rematch of their UFC 127 majority draw. The bout between Bader and Ortiz will undoubtedly be a featured fight on the main card somewhere behind the main event, depending on how the rest of the card shapes out.
