Even without an athletic commission in Brazil the UFC handed down medical suspensions on the fighters following UFC Rio (UFC 134). 16 fighters or two-thirds of the entire card were suspended, ranging anywhere from 7 days mandatory rest to 180 days pending doctor’s clearance.

The only fight from Saturday that escaped clean with no medical suspended was the David Mitchell vs. Paulo Thiago fight that the Brazilian won via unanimous decision. Here is a fight by fight look at who was suspended and how long they will be out of action.

Main Card:

185 lbs.: Anderson Silva vs. Yushin Okami

  • Yushin Okami – 45 days no contest; 30 days no contact

205 lbs.: Forrest Griffin vs. Mauricio Rua

  • Forrest Griffin – 180 days or must have right foot and jaw cleared by doctor; 45 days no contest; 30 days no contact

155 lbs.: Edson Barboza vs. Ross Pearson

  • Ross Pearson – 45 days no contest; 30 days no contact

265 lbs.: Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Brendan Schaub

  • Brendan Schaub – 45 days no contest; 30 days no contact

205 lbs.: Luiz Cane vs. Stanislav Nedkov
