Jamie Varner Highlights Titan Fighting Championship 20 Card
Tomorrow night TFC 20 marks Jamie Varner’s (17-5 MMA) revamped fighting career after his first full camp at AMA. Two main card fights within a month span is the ticket needed to give Varner one more chance in the UFC. The card originally had him against a seasoned veteran but due to legal issues Varner will now face a highly touted prospect. Varner has seemed to mature greatly since we first saw him in the UFC / WEC and looks forward to turning heads beginning tomorrow night.
Dakota Cochrane (9-1 MMA) doesn’t know much about losing, and a solid win over Varner would propel his fight career. This will be Cochrane’s fourth fight of 2011 and bring in with him a five fight winning streak that includes three early finishes.
Varner has been on edge since he left the WEC and ran through his last opponent shortly into the first round. Varner even was the dominator in his last WEC fight, but suffered a submission loss from jumping the gun after he dropped Roller with strikes. Varner has been receiving rave reviews from his training camp and the Miller Brothers seemed to have enjoyed his presence adding praise as well.
Look for Varner to start fast and push the pace until the rookie feels like he is in deep water with the wrong shark. Having someone with a great win / loss ratio always leaves chance for the upset and for a late replacement, this fight may be more appealing than the first. Be sure to check out Friday night fights on HDNet for a friend of the site to add one more fight to his record.
