This time, it was Strikeforce Heavyweight Champion Alistair Overeem’s older brother, Valentijn Overeem.
The main card of Strikeforce: Overeem vs. Werdum card finally marked the completion of the Heavyweight Grand Prix quarterfinal round. After a four month wait the Grand Prix returned with Josh Barnett vs. Brett Rogers and Alistair Overeem vs. Fabricio Werdum.

Fabricio Werdum enters his fight this Saturday as a Zuffa employee once again. The services of Werdum were no longer needed in the UFC after his surprising loss to some Heavyweight named Junior Dos Santos, who was making his UFC debut back in 2008.
In the past two years, Strikeforce has done a tremendous job of gathering a group of talented young fighters in need of exposure and a bigger stage.
