Strikeforce Challengers 16 returns June 24th

The 16th installment of the Strikeforce Challenger’s series is set to return to Kent, Washington on Friday June 24th. The last time Strikeforce was in Kent was for the second Challengers event way back in 2009. The event drew 2,836 attendees for a $85,805 live gate.

Ryan Couture (2-0) is expected to be on the night’s main card against an opponent yet to be determined. A Native Washington, couture will be making his first professional appearance in his home state. The son of recently retired UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture has two submission wins in his young career.

Also on the card will be newly signed heavyweight Lorenz Larkin (10-0) taking on Gian Villante (7-2). Larkin is coming off his promotional debut at Challengers 15 where he put on a dominate performance against Scott Lighty. Villante lost his Strikeforce debut against Chad Griggs at February’s Strikeforce: Fedor vs. Silva by first round TKO.

Strikeforce Challengers 16 Takes place at the ShoWare Center and airing on Showtime with tickets ranging from $27 – $102.
