| August 11, 2011 | Reply

Undefeated Strikeforce Light Heavy Weight Lorenz Larkin will be headlining the upcoming Strikeforce Challengers 19 card set to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada at the Palms Casino. His opponent, opposite him in the main event will be Virgil Zwicker, it what should prove to be an exciting matchup for the fans.

Lorenz (11-0) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Gian Villante at June’s Strikeforce Challengers: Terry vs. Fodor event and will look to add another win to his undefeated record. Lorenz has fought twice thus far on the Challengers card, but this will be “The Monsoon’s” first time in the headliners spot.

“I am definitely excited about this matchup with Virgil,” says Larkin, “I want to come out and put on a great show for the fans and I can’t wait to fight in Vegas for the first time of my career”

Zwicker (10-2) is also coming off a win under the Strikeforce banner at April’s Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley card, where he defeated Brett Albee by first round TKO. Zwicker is 1-1 in Strikeforce having been knocked out by Lavar Johnson in the co-main event of Strikeforce Challengers 11.

Both fighters are heavy strikers and have a combined 15 (T)KO wins in their 23 overall Mixed Martial Arts fights. When this two face off in the nights main event, expect some serious fireworks.

Strikeforce Challengers 19 will air on Showtime on September 23rd 2011. News of this bout was released today via Larkin himself, through his public relations press release.
