Things ramped up in the world of Mixed Martial Arts in September. Along with two UFC events, Bellator kicked off its fifth season with three events, Strikeforce held two and BAMMA had one. The action will continue at this feverish pace until the calendar turns over a new year.
After the month of July offered little movement in the rankings, August saw several fighters in the top five put their record on the line. The action resulted in four fighters moving down in the ranking, two of them fell completely out of the top five. Conversely, two fighters moved up in the ranks while two fighters “knocking on the door” got called up to the top five.
The calendar has changed from July to August and for MMA fans it couldn’t have come fast enough. As far as MMA action, July was a slow month compared to the multiple high profile events of June and August. Away from the action it wasn’t any better as multiples injuries ravaged upcoming cards and Strikeforce heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem was removed from the grand prix and later released entirely.
June was a month to remember for Mixed Martial Arts fans as every single weekend was jam packed with loads of televised events. Starting back on May 27th, there has been six weeks in a row with Major MMA action on TV, culminating with last weekends UFC 132.
With the first event of February now in the books it’s time to hand out the latest MMA fighter rankings. The past month saw three UFC events and two Strikeforce events take place with many of the ranked fighters, including three current champions successfully defended their titles.
2010 was another great year for MMA and it saw many new champions be crowned while other champs were able to hang onto their belts. Rankings are loved and hated by many, everyone has their opinion and thus rankings become very bias and looked down upon.
Following an awesome night of fights last Saturday it was once again time to update the MMA Valor fighter rankings.

Due to a previously scheduled Arena Football game at the HP Pavilion, today’s UFC on FOX 7 weigh-ins were held less than a mile away at the California Theater. The small theater was completely filled with cheering fans and all the fighters they came to see made weight.
The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale Weigh-in Pictures
Amidst everything else going on, the UFC has themselves a busy day today with the UFC on FX 6 taking place in Australia and The Ultimate Fighter 16 finale weigh-ins. All 24 fighters made weight today for tomorrow’s event that will crown The Ultimate Fighter 16 welterweight winner.
UFC on FUEL TV 4 Weigh-in Results and Photos
SAN JOSE, Cal. – Still recovering from Saturday’s UFC 148, MMAValor.com was inside the HP Pavilion for today’s UFC on FUEL TV 4 weigh-ins. A few of the fighters would need to step onto the scale behind a towel but all 22 fighters on the UFC on FUEL TV 4 fight card made weight.

The long grind of the first live version of The Ultimate Fighter ends tonight at the TUF Live Finale in Las Vegas. Featuring 12 of the 16 TUF Live contestants, the 10 bout card will be headlined by an important match-up in the welterweight division between Jake Ellenberger and Martin Kampmann.

All the fighters for tomorrow’s TUF Live Finale were on weight as they stepped onto the scales inside the Pearl at the Palms. The 20 fighters, including 12 of the 16 TUF Live fighters will begin entering the Octagon tomorrow starting at 2:45pm PT / 5:45pm ET.
