Pete Spratt versus Dan Hornbuckle to Headline LFC 17
Legacy Fighting Championships first event of the year, LFC 17 is set to take place on February 1st from the Cowboys Dance hall in San Antonio, Texas. The main card will air live on AXS TV and will be headlined by MMA Veterans Pete Spratt and Dan Hornbuckle. The two will enter the main event with 73 combined professional fights but each has been out of action for a prolonged period of time.
Spratt (25-21) is coming off a win back in March and is currently on a two fight winning streak, his first such streak late 2009. Spratt had two stints in the UFC and competed on the “comeback” season of The Ultimate Fighter. This will be his third appearance under the Legacy Fighting Champion banner where he is 1-1 with a title fight loss to Jorge Patino at LFC 8. Hornbuckle (22-5) will be making his promotional debut at LFC 17 after a long stint with Bellator MMA. While with Bellator Hornbuckle was part of three welterweight tournament and reached the finals in season 2. Hornbuckle lost back to back fights to end his time with Bellator and last fought in September of 2011. Ring rust will surly play some part in this fight, not too mention the wear of so many fights but nevertheless these two welterweights need a win which should equal a exciting fight.
Also on the LFC 17 main card will be heavyweight Jared Rosholt taking on Richard Odoms and featherweights Kevin Aguilar vs. Nick Gonzalez. In total the LFC 17 main card will consist on six bouts, with a five bout un-aired preliminary card. The LFC 17 main card will begin on AXS TV at 7pm PT / 10pm ET.
