James Krause is hoping for a call from the UFC
Not only did lightweight James Krause avenge his loss to Toby Imada during Friday’s RFA 6 but he also got positioned himself one step closer to the UFC. The quick rising fighter headlined the night with a unanimous decision win, his seventh win in a row. Following the win, Krause once again sent a shout out to the UFC matchmaker Joe Silva to give him a call.
James Krause (19-4) made his fifth successful appearance under the Resurrection Fighting Alliance banner and fought for the third time in just over two months. After almost making it into The Ultimate Fighter Live house last March, Krause has been on a mission to get into the Octagon ever since.
With yet another win under his belt it would seem that Krause is standing on the doorsteps of his goal. He’s done nothing but win during his time with Resurrection Fighting Alliance and his latest win over Toby Imada is clearly the biggest win with the promotion. Krause could get that call from the UFC at any moment as a late injury replacement but one more win, over a big name opponent would make a statement that Joe Silva and UFC will not be able to ignore.
A fight with former UFC lightweight Tyson Griffin who recently made his RFA debut could be that big name opponent. Griffin defeated Efrain Escudero at RFA 4 back in November by unanimous decision after signing a three fight deal with the promotion.
RFA 7: Griffin vs. Krause sure does have a nice ring to it but now we are getting a bit ahead of ourselves here. Either way, if you’re listening Joe Silva, James Krause is waiting for your phone call.
