Maiquel Falcao wins Tournament, title shot at Bellator 69

As Bellator’s sixth season is coming to an end, Bellator 69 featured the tournament final in the middleweight division between Maiquel Falcao and Andreas Spang. The winner would be crowned the season six tournament champion, given an over-sized check for $100,000 and a spot against Alexander Shlemenko for the vacant middleweight title.

Hector Lombard and his 25 fight unbeaten streak are leaving Bellator Fighting Championship for the big stage of the UFC. The Cuban-Australian middleweight announced the news via Twitter but the news hasn’t been officially announced by the UFC.

Spang is stepping in for the undefeated Brazilian Bruno Santos, who was forced to withdraw from the semifinal bout due to a shoulder injury.
