This morning Bellator MMA announced their first 2013 summer series event on June 19th from the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma. The Bellator 96 main card will feature the opening round of the four man light heavyweight tournament and is headlined by a lightweight title fight between Michael Chandler and Dave Jansen.
Tonight at Bellator 91 the promotion re-introduced their light heavyweight champion and then crowned a brand new one. The champion hadn’t fought in 16 months and looked horrible, yet the challenger didn’t look that great either.
Those of you new to Bellator MMA are probably wondering who this Christian M’Pumbu guy is headlining tonight’s Bellator 91. Better yet you’re probably asking yourself when Bellator crowned a light heavyweight champion anyway. Well roughly 21 months ago Christian M’Pumbu defeated Richard Hale to become the first ever Bellator light heavyweight champion and he will finally get to defend that title tonight.
As the seventh season for Bellator nears its end and the promotion counts the days until their big move to Spike, they have three big events left. These three events will not only close out all four of the season seven tournament finals but the light heavyweight title will be defended for the very first time.

The Bellator summer series came to a close tonight with two tournament finals at Bellator 73. First off was the was the conclusion of the season 6 bantamweight tournament between Marcos Galvao and Luis Nogueira and headlining the card was the summer series light heavyweight final between Travis Wiuff and Attila Vegh.
While the shows are less frequent, the action in the Bellator cage is no less potent in this Summer Series of fights. While the title scene in Bellator has been gummed up with injuries and setbacks, the tournament format is still rolling along, with the finals for Bantamweight and Light Heavyweight being decided at this Friday’s Bellator 73. Due to a previously scheduled Arena Football game at the HP Pavilion, today’s UFC on FOX 7 weigh-ins were held less than a mile away at the California Theater. The small theater was completely filled with cheering fans and all the fighters they came to see made weight.

Amidst everything else going on, the UFC has themselves a busy day today with the UFC on FX 6 taking place in Australia and The Ultimate Fighter 16 finale weigh-ins. All 24 fighters made weight today for tomorrow’s event that will crown The Ultimate Fighter 16 welterweight winner.
UFC on FUEL TV 4 Weigh-in Results and Photos
SAN JOSE, Cal. – Still recovering from Saturday’s UFC 148, MMAValor.com was inside the HP Pavilion for today’s UFC on FUEL TV 4 weigh-ins. A few of the fighters would need to step onto the scale behind a towel but all 22 fighters on the UFC on FUEL TV 4 fight card made weight.
