Saturday September 3rd, marked the second event held under the Australian Fighting Championship banner. It was an action packed night with a great nine fight card. The most notable fight though, was a middleweight showdown between Hector “Lightning” Lombard (30-2) and the Ultimate Fighter Season 7 slopfest finalist, Jesse “JT Money” Taylor (19-7). Not only was this fight the most notable from the card, but it would also crown a new AFC Middleweight Champion.

Today was the Strikeforce weigh-ins and it was my first experience with Mixed Martial Arts weigh ins. The place was pretty crowded, it didn’t help that it was in a very small room either. By the time they opened the doors to let people in, they were already about to close them and unfortunately maybe half or less actually made it into the weigh-ins.
