The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada will play host to the WSOF 3 event to be held on Friday, June 14th. The upstart promotion had previously announced welterweights Josh Burkman and Jon Fitch as the headliners for their third event but today they began announcing more fights.

Following his impressive win over Aaron Simpson at last weekend’s WSOF 2, Josh Burkman felt his deserved a World Series of Fighting title shot. At the same time though he also felt that his next WSOF opponent, Jon Fitch, did not deserve a title shot as he has not “earned” it he explained.

With World Series of Fighting throwing some money around and bringing in names, they're making a statement in terms of buying power, but raising a question of staying power. Regardless of future events, Saturday’s WSOF 2 is worthy of some attention. Strikeforce, WEC and UFC cast-offs make up the majority of this card, but a few home-grown future stars litter the landscape as well.

Throwing a few units on a favorite you know will pan out is always fun, but most bettors live for the underdogs to pull off an upset. Not only does it pack the bankroll swelling-positive numbers you love, it also has that "I told you so" air to it. Sometimes that risk is calculated, sometimes it’s a hunch, and sometimes it's just a play you want to make before you set your bankroll to bet on NFL football on Sunday.

Another major promotion entered the fray, as the highly anticipated World Series of Fighting held its first event. With a card filled with talent from around the world from a variety of backgrounds and promotions, the card looked like a winner from top to bottom.
