Some FX cards are PPV quality, but the UFC on FX 7 fight card looks like…..FX quality. Even still, free fights are free fights and we’re sometimes surprised by the matchmaking in these smaller events, as these are hungry locals looking to make a big splash in the UFC. The Tony Ferguson curse has struck once again, as it has been announced that Ferguson’s second scheduled opponent for the UFC on FOX 3, Thiago Tavares has also been forced to withdraw from his bout with Ferguson. Tony’s first scheduled opponent was Dennis Hallman, who was forced out the contest with Ferguson due to a pre-fight injury, and now that Tavares has suffered a similar situation, Michael Johnson has stepped up to face Tony at the upcoming UFC event.

The fight will still take place as a catchweight bout but Johnson will lose 20% of his purse and was forced to weigh-in less than 205 lbs. today.
