The UFC has been host to many high-profile trilogy fights throughout its existence. Battles like Ortiz/Shamrock, Couture/Liddell, Hughes/St. Pierre, and Penn/Hughes, to name a few. On Friday, another trilogy will close its book as Spencer Fisher takes on Sam Stout, for the final time. Both their previous wars were good enough to make the UFC’s 100 greatest fight list with their first fight making number 16 on the list.
If the UFC isn’t careful fans might start to think Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber is a yearly occurrence that comes around every July. Following their Bantamweight title fight last July at UFC 132 the two will likely feel a bit of déjà vu when they step back into the Octagon on July 7th at UFC 148 for their third meeting. The rivals will square off in the same exact arena, one year and five days after Cruz evened the score with a unanimous decision victory.
