Expect Big Things from Impact MMA on December 10th

| December 8, 2011 | Reply

The Mixed Martial Arts community located in the California Bay Area has longed for a local promotion to bring them top-level, local talent into the cage. The area is filled with top gyms with talented fighters and loyal fans that have been forced to travel to see their favorite local fighters. Change is coming and it’s coming this weekend in Dublin, California as IMPACT MMA makes their debut with “Recognition”.

“The fighters that are locally based they have such following and let’s face it; these fans that are somehow connected to these fighters have not always had the easiest way of getting to see their fights because it’s been so far away,” explains IMPACT MMA President and Matchmaker Tommy Rojas.

An up and coming fighter in the area finds himself with limited options within a 150 mile radius for professional fights. Impact MMA now gives them a place locally to showcase their talents, while doing so in front of their biggest fans. Case and point: The majority of the December 10th fight card is made up of fighters from top local gyms, CSA (Dublin), Crispin BJJ (Pleasanton), AKA (San Jose/Fresno) & CenCal MMA (Stockton).

So what can fans expect to see from IMPACT MMA: Recognition…….

“They are going to see great, explosive fights and bunch of knockouts, with an intense atmosphere,” explained Rojas. He went on to tell MMA Valor that he wants fans to leave the show thinking “it’s hard to believe that this is our first show!”

The festivities kick off tomorrow (Dec. 9th) at Athens Burgers in Dublin with the live weigh-ins, beginning at 5pm. The doors open at the Alameda County Fairgrounds at 5pm, first fight starts at 6pm. To round out the night there will also be a post fight after party across the street from the fights at the Mexico Lindo Restaurant & Cantina in Pleasanton.

About the Author ()

My brain child is MMAValor, something I had wanted to do for a long time and finally it’s here. Been an MMA fan since TUF season one (play catch up all the time) and the obsession started to grow like a weed and as the sport grows so does the love for the sport. I’m a jack of all trades, a very organized person that rides an emotional roller coaster daily.
