Bryan Lashomb: An Elf with a Giant Opportunity
Since we are now one month removed from Christmas, I didn’t think I would have to think about elves until next December. Bryan “The Angry Elf” Lashomb is making me change that thought, however. On February 4th fans will see the undefeated pro take a giant leap up in competition as he fights for the vacant Flyweight title at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 13, in Atlantic City, NJ.
In what will be Bryan’s fourth professional fight, the former Division I wrestler will be facing AMA Fight Club member, Sean Santella, a veteran of 12 pro scraps and owner of one of most vicious knee bars this side of Chris Lytle.
The Old Dominion University alum is not at all concerned about the variance in fight experience. As a matter of fact, Lashomb feels like Santella might be overlooking him, due to his relative inexperience and lesser known training camp. Lashomb feels like Santella will be looking for him to ONLY go after takedowns, but if you’ve seen Bryan’s last two fights, both ended via TKO.
“I think with him being a brown belt and mostly a ground fighter, he’s expecting me to come in for the takedown, but I think when I start throwing them hands, that’s really gonna keep him guessing,” said Lashomb regarding Santella.
So, it’s going to be youth vs. experience. Which one will triumph? If it’s to be Lashomb’s youth, that will be a major title in only four fights and a virtual springboard toward the new UFC Flyweight division that will be unveiled soon.
Bryan’s statement to Sean Santella, as heard on Pure Adrenaline Radio, is this: “Man, it’s nothin’ personal but it’s gonna be a short night, expect to be knocked out, expect to be finished because that’s what we do, we bring it every time, MMA Institute all day.”
CFFC 13 will feature Bellator veteran, Kenny Foster, in the main event and will also feature three other MMA Institute fighters (Mike Wade, Terrell Hobbs and Brian Nielson). To find out more about the event, check out their website.
