My brain child is MMAValor, something I had wanted to do for a long time and finally it’s here. Been an MMA fan since TUF season one (play catch up all the time) and the obsession started to grow like a weed and as the sport grows so does the love for the sport. I’m a jack of all trades, a very organized person that rides an emotional roller coaster daily.
The term Super Fight is being tossed around in the UFC these days at an alarming rate. There isn’t an interview with UFC president Dana White where he isn’t asked about the potential super fight. Whether its Georges St-Pierre vs. Anderson Silva or Anderson Silva vs. Jon Jones, those darn two words just won’t disappear.
The spots were few and far between for value bettors this weekend, but those with a sharp eye found a few easy bucks to be had. While the lack of Tachi Palace Fighting odds hurt players, wagers could be made on Legacy Fighting Championship 15, Bellator 81 and UFC 154, leaving us with a wide open field. While favorites were king this weekend, let’s check out a few of the underdogs that padded our pockets.
The UFC welterweight champion returned to the Octagon tonight at UFC 154 and walk out was again the “undisputed champion”. In front of a packed house in Montreal, Georges St-Pierre took on the interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit in a 25 minute war that left both fighters battered, bruised and bloody.
The time has arrived, UFC 154 is upon use and hopefully the welterweight division can get back to some form of normalcy. Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre returns to action after a long absence to take on the interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit to unify the belts.
After Roy nelson threw Mike Ricci under the bus in last week’s episode on The Ultimate Fighter 16, things get started off this week with more fallout. Mike Hill is upset that “his boy” called him out and is now ready to throw down with his fellow Canadian. Ricci on the other hand just wanted to defeat Team Nelson’s number two pick after already knocking off their first pick.
The final semifinal bouts of Bellator’s seventh season were held tonight at Bellator 81 inside the Ryan Center in Kingston, Rhode Island. Lightweights Rich Clementi, Marcin Held, Dave Jansen and Ricardo Tirloni were vying for the two spots in the final and a shot at the $100k and the Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler.
A busy weekend in MMA got started early with last night’s Tachi Palace Fights 15: Collision Course. The nine bout fight card got the jump on the others this weekend streaming live on Sherdog from inside the Tachi palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, California.
The UFC welterweight champion returns to action this weekend as Canada’s Georges St-Pierre looks to unify the belts at UFC 154 in Montreal. Also looking to unify the belt will be the interim welterweight champion Carlos Condit who defeated Nick Diaz way back in February by unanimous decision. St-Pierre has been out since April of last year after injuring his knee late last year that required surgery.
