This morning MMA fans are in for a little treat with the completely free UFC on FUEL TV 5: Struve vs. Miocic fight card. Fans don’t often get UFC fights this early in the morning but with the promotion in Nottingham, England the prelims are set to set at approximately 10am PT / 1pm ET and the main card will air of FUEL TV starting at 1pm PT / 4pm ET.
All but one of the 22 fights on the UFC on FUEL TV 5 card made weight today in Nottingham, England. The lone fight was welterweight DaMarques Johnson who took the fight on short notice and was unable to make the agreed upon weight of 175 pounds.
After holding their first event in six weeks this past Saturday the UFC is back again this Saturday with the UFC on FUEL TV 5 card from Nottingham, England. Thankfully the main card will air live here in the states on FX starting at 1pm PT / 4pm ET, with the complete preliminary card streaming live on Facebook.
This Saturday the UFC is rolling into Nottingham England and bringing a solid card of local favorites and some surprisingly competitive match-making across the board at UFC on Fuel TV: Struve vs. Miocic. With the atmosphere in the NIA was electric as fight fans wait for the main event between Tom ‘Kong’ Watson and Jack Marshman, there is just the small matter of an equally impressive undercard to get through.
Even though there was no UFC once again this weekend, that didn’t mean Mixed Martial Arts fans were without their MMA fix. Aside from Fridays TUF Live and Bellator 63, the first international version The Ultimate Fighter aired late Sunday night. Mixed in between those high-profile events was all the action from Saturday, here are the results from some of that action.
BAMMA announced today two more changes to Saturdays BAMMA 9 fight card. Both Fraser Opie and Matt Howard forced to withdraw from their scheduled fights due to injuries sustained during the final days of training. This is on top of the numerous other changes the BAMMA 9 fight card has undertaken since its initial announcement.
With the next event merely a matter of weeks away, organizers have confirmed that BAMMA 9, due to take place at the NIA Arena in Birmingham on March 24th, will see BAMMA-Lonsdale’s British Middleweight Champion, Jack Marshman, challenge Tom ‘Kong’ Watson for the BAMMA World Middleweight belt.
