Five Minutes with Chris Camozzi

Chris Camozzi should be a household name by now, but a run of bad luck during the Ultimate Fighter Season kept him from receiving the attention that he deserves.  Camozzi, who defeated Victor O’Donnell via decision to get into the house, soon found out that he would not be a part of the show.

Camozzi suffered a fractured jaw during the fight and was not cleared by the medical staff to continue on the show.  This setback did not slow Camozzi down one bit.  After he was told that he was being replaced and he had to leave the house, Camozzi did not quit, he did not give up.  Camozzi went back home to Denver, CO, waited for his jaw to heal and he began training as hard as ever.

Five minutes with Kris McCray

Kris McCray is one of the UFC’s newest rising stars. After suffering a defeat in the opening round of the Ultimate Fighter season 11, many people wrote McCray off. One of the few people that didn’t write off McCray was McCray himself. Instead of accepting defeat, McCray continued to work hard and train hard and he earned the wildcard position, giving him a second opportunity. McCray made the most of his second chance by winning his next three fights including a rematch with Josh Bryant and earning a spot in the Ultimate Fighter Season 11 finale against Court McGee.

The release of Jardine (15-8-1) came as a surprise to some fans. Even though he has lost his last four fights, he has truly made a name for himself in the light heavyweight division. With wins over Chuck Liddell and Forrest Griffin, Jardine proved to be a real contender. Jardine’s final bout in the UFC was against Matt Hamill at the TUF 11 finale, which he lost via majority decision.

Clayton McKinney TUF 11 episode 6 blog

The thing is with Kyacey Uscola is he’s very seasoned and  Has been in the game for a long time, he knows what he likes to do.  I’m not saying I agree or disagree with Kyaceys comments on the over training.  I think Tito and the staff did a great job of getting us ready for our fights, but we may have needed to back off a slight bit a day or two before the fights.  Kris McCray is a great guy and great fighter but he may have suffered from a little bit of over training right before his fight with Josh Bryant, but only Kris can tell you that.
