This past year was yet another really good one for the sport of Mixed Martial Arts. The UFC introduced the women’s bantamweight division, Champions fell while stars began to rise and promotions like, Bellator, Invicta FC, WSOF and the XFC continued to grow.
Tonight is the last night before the calendar changes to the month of November, commonly known as Halloween. It’s the night kids (young and old) dress up as their favorite whatever and fill their pillow cases up with candy. The sugar highs that will be induced from said candy will last well into November.
Tito Ortiz managed to save us all $45 by busting his neck and making Bellator 106 a free event, so cheers for that! All joking aside though, this is an amazing card for Bellator with some of the best matches possible with their roster, making it well worth checking out.
We all love tournaments, and Bellator rolled out its glorious Featherweight bracket tonight, with plenty of amazing action across the board at Bellator 99. One of the best parts of a tournament is figuring out how the bracket pans out down the road, and my eyes were on the screen non-stop; taking it all in.
Bellator was the best show of the week last time out, and will look to keep the ball rolling with the start of a new Featherweight tournament at Friday’s Bellator 99. Faces both new and old are present in one of Bellator's most competitive divisions, as they all look to get a piece of Pat Curran and his title, along with a cool $100,000.
Another featherweight tournament got underway at last night's Bellator 88 but the card was headlined by a title fight for the vacant middleweight title. Tournaments winners Alexander Shlemenko and Maiquel Falcao faced off to become only the promotions second middleweight champion.
After last week’s strange ending to the opening round of the heavyweight tournament, tonight’s Bellator 76 was a welcomed sight. Along with the featherweight tournament quarterfinals, the Bellator 76 main card was headlined by a lightweight super bout between Eddie Alvarez and Patricky Pitbull.
Though most of the focus is on UFC 153 this Saturday, you don't want to forget about Friday's Bellator 76. The main event, which will air on MTV2 at 8pm ET, features a lightweight showdown between former Bellator lightweight champ, Eddie Alvarez (23-3) and Heavy handed Patricky "Pitbull" Freire (10-3).
