Just days after the UFC announced that Jose Aldo, the UFC featherweight champion would be taking on Erik Koch in the UFC 149 main event, tickets for the event will go on sale this week. The event will take place Saturday, July 21st from the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and will be the promotions first trip to Calgary.

Possible Opponents for Jose Aldo at UFC 149

Yesterday the UFC held a press conference in Calgary to announce that three events will be held in Canada each of the next two years. Calgary will play host for the first UFC in Canada this year with UFC 149 on July 21st. During the press conference UFC president Dana White also announced that featherweight champion Jose Aldo would headline the card against a “to be determined” opponent.

Friday night’s Bellator 60 was a solid showcase of the promotions 145 lb. division, a division that is filled with talent and also has a newly crowned champion. Coming off the Strikeforce grand prix event last week that saw very few fighters receiving medical suspensions, every single on the UFC Fight Night 25: Battle on the Bayou card was given some form of mandatory suspensions. The majority of the competitors received a very small mandatory 7-day suspension but some of the suspensions did climb as high as 60 days.
