The Bellator summer series light heavyweight tournament came to an explosive conclusion at tonight’s Bellator 73. Travis Wiuff and Attila Vegh took different routes through the tournament field but meet in the finals with the same goal in mind, the Bellator light heavyweight title.
The Bellator summer series came to a close tonight with two tournament finals at Bellator 73. First off was the was the conclusion of the season 6 bantamweight tournament between Marcos Galvao and Luis Nogueira and headlining the card was the summer series light heavyweight final between Travis Wiuff and Attila Vegh.
The Multi-time BJJ champion Marcos Galvao and rising star Luis Nogueira will finish out the Bellator 2012 Summer Series as they each look to claim the next spot in line for a shot at the Bantamweight Championship at Bellator 73. The fight will take place this Friday August 24th at Harrah’s Tunica Hotel and Casino in Tunica Resorts, MS.
While the shows are less frequent, the action in the Bellator cage is no less potent in this Summer Series of fights. While the title scene in Bellator has been gummed up with injuries and setbacks, the tournament format is still rolling along, with the finals for Bantamweight and Light Heavyweight being decided at this Friday’s Bellator 73. The second half of the Bellator season six bantamweight quarterfinal round was concluded during tonight’s Bellator 65 event. Live from the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey Marcos Galvao, Ed West, Alexis Vila and Luis Nogueira looked to join Travis Marx and Hiroshi Nakamura, who advanced to the semifinals at last week’s Bellator 64.
