It’s all tied up at three after last week’s win by Vinc Pichel of Team Cruz, with only two fights remaining in the opening round of TUF Live. Up next is Sam Sicilia (Team Cruz) vs. Chris Saunders (Team Faber) as the two bitter rival coaches try to head into the quarterfinal round with the numbers advantage.
Heading into tonight’s TUF Live fight, Team Faber was up 3-2 with three more opening round fights to go. After losing the first two bouts, Team Faber has won the last three and will look to retain control.
Who gets hammered before coming to the UFC training center to watch two fighters try to fulfill their dreams of becoming a UFC fighter? Apparently TUF Live Chris Tickle does. After the Michael Chiesa vs. Jeremy Larson bout it was revealed by members of team Faber that Mr. Tickle got hammered prior to the fights and was still feeling it when team Cruz headed back to their dressing after the fight. Tickle began talking trash at his opponent disrupting the room which was trying to coup with the defeat.
Coming off the Miles Jury vs. Al Iaquinta bout last week that saw Team Faber secure their first win, Coach Urijah Faber selected Jeremy Larson of team Cruz to face Michael Chiesa of team Faber. Cheisa has been itching to fight since coming back to the house after attending his father’s funeral and looked to keep the control with team Faber. Larson was the last pick by Dominick Cruz and what better way to show it was a mistake then by winning back control for Team Cruz.
If you remember last week episode, Dominick Cruz gave Urijah Faber the control to pick and he asked his team who’s ready to fight, which prompted no response from team Faber. The fighters on Team Cruz took that as a sign of weakness and a victory for their team, shooting their confidence through the roof.
Tonight’s first “real” episode of The Ultimate Fighter: Live and the first look of the shows new “live” structure. The first week of the show saw the fighters split into teams, a fighter get some bad news and the first fighter earns a spot in the quarterfinal round.
The 32 lightweights learned just two days ago who they would be fighting tonight when The Ultimate Fighter’s 15th season kicks-off LIVE on FX. The latest season will open with a two and a half hour special where all 32 fighters will step into the Octagon and the victorious ones will make it into the TUF house.
