Legacy Fighting Championship was back in action tonight in Houston, Texas as they presented Legacy Fighting Championship 12. With some late changes at the top of the card, MMA veteran Jay Hieron ended up headlining the card against late replacement, Romario Manoel Da Silva.

While the main event bout would end in a bit of controversy, Legacy Fighting Championship 12 entertained fans despite the late changes.

Main Card (AXS TV)

Alan Nascimento (6-0) defeated Terry Acker (4-1) by 3rd rd. Submission (Knee Bar)

  • Acker was winning nearly every minute of the fight until Nascimento catch Acker slacking and pulled a knee bar that forced a tap.

DJ Linderman (13-3) defeated Dale Mitchell (5-5) by 2nd rd. TKO

  • A pretty one-sided fight in favor of Linderman as Mitchell was seemingly gassed before the opening bell. Linderman says he wants a UFC call up but he’ll need to face stiffer competition to get really noticed by the big show.

Noel Ligon (5-0) defeated Artenas Young (8-5) by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 30-27, 29-28)

  • Apparently Young forgot he was in a fight because after a minute into the fight he stopped doing much of anything on his way to a decision loss.

Robert Drysdale (4-0) defeated Ike Villanueva (8-7) by 1st rd. Submission (Armbar)

  • Villanueva got one punch in before Drysdale took the fight to the canvas and moved in for the rear naked choke. Villanueva defended that well but Drysdale went to plan B and took his opponents arm home as a souvenir in just 89 seconds.

Jay Hieron (23-5) defeated Romario Manoel Da Silva (19-10-1) by 2nd rd. Submission (Choke)

  • Shades of the Bellator debut by Hieron where he defeated Anthony Lapsley by controversial submission. Heiron had Da Silva in a choke and thought he was out, when the referee checked he also thought De Silva was out and ended the fight.

The original Legacy Fighting Championship 12 main event between Will Capuzano and Chad Robichaux was scrapped due to medical reasons after missing weight by two pounds.

My brain child is MMAValor, something I had wanted to do for a long time and finally it’s here. Been an MMA fan since TUF season one (play catch up all the time) and the obsession started to grow like a weed and as the sport grows so does the love for the sport. I’m a jack of all trades, a very organized person that rides an emotional roller coaster daily.
