UFC 127: Penn vs. Fitch Predictions

UFC 127: Penn Vs. Fitch PredictionsThe UFC makes its second trip down under to the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia for UFC 127. The last time the UFC was in Australia was for UFC 110 last February 21st which was headlined by Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Cain Velasquez. UFC 127 will air live on PPV at the normal 7p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET on Saturday, which is Sunday in Australia.

Saturday’s event will be headlined by the welterweight bout between B.J. Penn and Jon Fitch to determine the #1 contender spot within the division. Who the winner will face for the welterweight title is unclear as the current champion Georges St. Pierre is defending his belt against Jake Shields at UFC 129.

The co-main event of the night is a middleweight fight featuring Michael Bisping and Jorge Rivera. Bisping fought on the last card in Australia, losing a unanimous decision to Wanderlei Silva but has reeled off two wins in a row since. Rivera has won three fights in a row but he hasn’t fought since last March, as his scheduled bout at UFC 122 against Alessio Sakara was scrapped due to an illness by Sakara.

Also on the card is George Sotiropoulos, who will be facing Dennis Siver with a possible title shot on the line for Sotiropoulos. Early this week Dana White announced that Sotiropoulos would be in line for a lightweight title shot should he defeat Siver.

The rest of the main card consists of a welterweight bout between Brian Ebersole and Chris Lytle and also a middleweight clash between TUF 11 contestants Chris Camozzi vs. Kyle Noke.

Here is the UFC 127 complete card along with my predictions.
